So, how's this going to work from NZ?
We're off in just under three weeks!
Flights and accomodation booked, itinery in place, and most bits and pieces bought and ready, just a few things from Wiggle outstanding.
I've got the route marked out in Memory Map and the .GPX files ready to be copied onto my old pda/phone.
Which brings me nicely to the point of this post.....
Having played around with this tonight it seems that my main reason for taking my Orange SPV M3100, for following the route, won't be its only use.
(Not that I think it will be needed much as some basic printed maps should work fine as the are so few roads in the South Island I'm pretty confident of following the right route)
With it's slide out kwerty keyboard I should be able to write some posts and send them via email to the NZ blog.
At the same time I'll try to take the odd photo with it each day to give some idea of the country, and the routes we're taking.
It seems much more straightforward to take some small photos with it and send them rather than copying them from my Canon G9 12 megapixel camera to the phone using the little USB 'on the go' box and sending some huge files..
I'll be sure to make the photos small to save on data charges :)
